Neurolinguistic Programming Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) is a growing science and art of the mind, where modeling excellence is the keynote. It is a practical application of how people think. As an adjunct to traditional Hypnosis, it adds an elegance and simplicity toward getting to root issues and creating better outcomes for many of the situations for which clients come to us. Just one more way we can help YOU to become the BEST YOU possible!
A large part of what we are today is the result of what has been said to us in the past, and how we continue to speak to ourselves (in our own mind-chatter) and to others, because we hear - consciously or otherwise - everything that goes on around us continually. Our prime nature is to key on words, and the sounds of words. Right from the moment of birth, perhaps even before our birth, our hearing was our prime way of relating to the world. As time progressed and our brains began to sort all of these things out for us, into words and phrases that actually took on specific meanings, we built up an auditory picture of the world around us. Sometimes it agreed with what we were able to see, at other times it didn't. It all became part of our "neuro-net", and patterns of speech, as well as how we related to the world around us, and became "programs" we followed, depending on how these words and relations unfolded in our lives.
In the 1970's several individuals began to take a harder look at human performance. They began breaking down the structure of subjective experience into their smallest components (or chunks) to see how changing, modifying improving upon or removing them would create the framework for growth and change at much deeper levels and much more quickly than traditional psycho-therapeutic methods were able to make those changes. This is an ongoing study, with new information added continually. People who have performed at the peak of their abilities have been studied to see how they have had the success that so many long to have in their lives (literally modeling their excellence). These NLP techniques now enable practitioners to be much more effective in assisting change in their clients lives.
Uses Of NLP
As an adjunct to traditional hypnosis techniques we use NLP interchangeably, and as an extension of, the hypnosis toolbox. In some instances, depending on the needs of the client, we may move from hypnosis to NLP and back to hypnosis again, all in one single session, moving fluidly between the two, so that the change-up may not even be noticed. NLP is also very useful for engaging the mind to trigger hypnosis in a therapeutic setting. Words have power, and the facilitator well-trained in NLP can assist a client to make the desired changes in next-to-lightening speed at times.
NLP Coaching In the process of working with Coaching Clients, where traditional hypnosis may not be practical, especially on telephone coaching calls, we can still use NLP with great effect. Sometimes NLP is also called "waking hypnosis" and the effects can be profound. Properly "anchored" suggestions will be readily incorporated into daily life, so that change is fluid and fast. You will find working with a Coach who utilizes NLP to be fun, and you will be amazed at how quickly and easily the changes you desire will happen for you.
